The other two walls are closer, but still not quite right.

At first I thought my bracing was too low, but the bottoms are all equal. Needless to say, this has become a disaster, and it's going back into the box. I'll probably try to contact Dario at RailScale and see what he has to say about it. I didn't file the bottoms nor the tops. This is the first time I've worked with resin walls, and I'm not impressed. It's funny that after building the Yehuda's shed with cardboard and the nicer Bar Mills shingles, I think this would have looked much better than the resin shingled "walls" and may try to scratch build this one that way. I think I'll dig out the cigar store and work on it.

Karl, it's a pretty big gap for the roof to cover. I'll probably have some painted trim cover the gap, but I've gotten out the cigar store to work on. I've been applying some signs.

I always note that Karl doesn't sand his signs, and they seem to look fine. On the right wall the top sign is sanded and the bottom isn't. They look about the same to me. I color the edges with colored pencils. But (it's hard to see), I had some bleeding of the reddish color on the "Jim Hogg" sign. I've not had this happen before. I guess I'll have to start sealing them in the future. Like now. :D I didn't want the Marconi to be "painted on", so it's applied to a piece of thin cardboard and has 4x4 edgers so it's more like a billboard. Tomorrow my least favorite task--cutting the windows and applying them.

I don't like the look of the Canopy glue nor Gallery glass windows due to their thickness and bubble problems. I doubt I have the patience to cut and use real glass, so thin plastic (or acetate) is my preferred method. I've had problems with little scratches, but using Future seemed to eliminate that, though I had some problems on the big windows of the Salon building earlier in the build. The cigar store has windows that are all different sizes. Most are the same width, but are partially opened. For these I cut a piece to the width on a paper cutter (only took two tries to get it right this time  ), then to length on the chopper. I then put the windows and their matching glass in the bin on the left so I can keep them straight. Next I'll A&I the walls and then install the windows (A&I ed without the glass, then glass installed). Then it'll be time to glue the walls together. I painted the lower edge of the "Hogg" sign where it was damaged, then some light drybrushing to bring it together. It's a little darker, but I can live with it.

I usually use gallery glass and bubble issues are rare with that product but when I do use acetate, what I started to do is run a black ink marker along the inside edge of the window and then quickly place it on a piece of acetate. Then i cut out the pattern left by the marker. If I cut just inside the line, then the acetate will be the perfect size to drop in the window. Once I got one cut, I got a "marker" for the rest!
But I agree- cutting acetate is my absolute most hated part of a build!

Nice work on this kit Jeff.
This kit was on my wish list, but with the problem you have encounter with the resin casting, I'm not sure that it will still in my list.
For the price, I think this kind of error must be an accident and musn't be present in all kit produce. Hope this is the case.
Thank to tkae time to share with us.

Hi Jeff:

Thed signs look good to me. Maybe the ink wasn't dry on the Hogg sign ( I will assume you printed it from your printer). I let them dry overnight. Also like your color scheme. What is the bottom wall color and the window color?

Thanks, Karl. The sign was in the kit. I think the red pencil I used on the edges bled, but I've not had that happen before, so I'm sealing them now. The colors are Reefer white and Depot Buff--both Pollyscale.
