Yehudah's Heating Co. Build:

Postby postalkarl » Wed Aug 31, 2011 6:27 pm

Hi All:

George and I were talking on the phone the other day and we were discussing the new kit. He was kinda worried about how the plaster walls would ship through the mail. He asked if I would consider building one in advance of the release this October. I said I would be honored to do so. So he put a kit together for me and it arrived today intact. Of course I immediately took it out of the box to see what was there. All the usual great things, castings, signs and etc. This will be my first plaster kit. I hope I will be able to do it justice. I guess I will just have to follow George's great instructions. I will be reading a lot tonight. There are four full sheets of instructions in the kit. This year's kit promises to be a little better than the rest due to the new media George has supplied us with this year. I think I am very much going to enjoy this project. here is a photo of the contents of the kit.

That's pretty dang nifty. Man. One of these days .. George .. or Billy Bob .. or .. Tiny Tim will offer me the same. Oh wait .. not Tiny Tim. (aside: What ever happened to Tiny Tim? Hmmm.). .. anyhoo .. this should be fun to watch! :)

Edit: Oh. He died in 1996. Well .. he was born in 1932 so that explains THAT!!

Hi All:

Here's a photo of the walls. The first job is to clean out all the window openings.

Hi All:

Here are the walls with the proper window openings cleaned out. The Doors and upper windows do not have to be done as they are either boarded up or have no windows in them. This a fairly easy job and took about 20 minutes. As George says it is a bit messy. Here's a photo.
