Hey guys,
Just booked a hotel, just need to find a flight and a car and me and my wife are all set. I'm going to check with AAA to see if they have a deal on travel and a car. Man, I am jazzed, I can't wait, even my wife is excited! I waited too long and missed the steam excursion, kinda bummed, but oh well you snooze you lose.
So who else is going? I sure would like to meet you guys and put a face with the typing.

Later, Bill H.
I like this place.

Lisa and I will be there.

I believe Barry Dupler is going to set up a meeting room so all the forum members can gather for a meet and greet.

Thought we’d let you know that we’ve updated our Layouts page at http://www.seattle2012.com/layouts Our list of 34 home layouts is now complete, both narrow and standard gauge. We are now updating many of our individual layouts with links to additional photos. Look for the word “more” at the end of descriptions and click on it. With the large Hangman’s Creek modular layout at the convention center that makes 35. Hangman’s Creek was built for this show and has never been seen before at any other convention...there’s also a link to their fabulous website as well. We are expecting additional modular layouts at the convention center and will post their information as their plans are finalized.

Again for those new to the Narrow Gauge Convention, layout tours are self guided by car with one or two exceptions. There is NO “extra fare” to see ANY of these layouts. Your registration is your ticket. The only extra charge at our convention is for parking at the convention center for a flat rate of $13 with in and out privileges, which makes getting to the layouts very convenient. .

Speaking of registration...there’s just a few days left to register at the reduced rate of $110. It goes up to $125 on June 1st. Registration is easy at http://www.seattle2012.com/products-page look for the word “Registration,”

Barry,

Thanks for the updates.

Is the $13 parking fee daily or for the length of the convention?

Wish the deadbeats who ran the Hickory NNGC would refund the ad money that I (and others) spent for the ads in the timetable that they never printed. Lots of promises that they would refund but they never delivered. Live and learn...

Jamie,

The $13 parking fee is per day. You do have in and out privileges for the whole day, so you do not repay if you leave for a layout tour. We also have a shuttle bus to the 4 main hotels if you want to park at the hotel.

Folks,

It’s been a couple of weeks since our last email, and we continue to update our website in preparation for Seattle 2012, the 32nd Narrow Gauge Convention this September. We’re less than three months away now. Simply put, this is a convention you cannot miss.

#1. As promised, we have now posted a map as well as a layout tour schedule. It’s up on the site at http://www.seattle2012.com/layouts/ Go to the main Layouts page and look for a white button marked “Layout Schedule” and click on it. That takes you to a map of the greater Seattle metro area and the layout schedule. This is a great way to plan. You can plan two different ways. You can look at numbers based on geography first, and scroll down and see which layout goes with which number. Or you can begin with the schedule and find the layout you want to see, check its number and go up to the map and see that layout’s location and how it relates to other layouts that might interest you. These are self guided tours, so you see only the layouts you want to. The convention headquarters is in Bellevue and is marked with a small blue symbol. If you want to find out more on specific layouts most have links to more photos.

Again, this is an incredible layout lineup. We have layouts in all scales, some 34 permanent home layouts and clubs, even a live steam operation. There are narrow gauge and standard gauge layouts. We will also be adding information on more amazing modular layouts which will be featured at our convention headquarters. On the website you can now see the spectacular On3 Hangman’s Creek modular logging layout. Hangman’s Creek is nothing short of stunning, and it has NEVER been shown at another convention, it was built for its debut at Seattle 2012 by our friends on the other side of Washington State.

#2 For the first timers, whether this is your first Narrow Gauge Convention or just your first time to the Seattle/Bellevue area, we have posted guidance on our home page
Look for two buttons, which will help explain what the convention is about, and how to navigate your way here. We hope you find this helpful.

Stay tuned for further updates, as we are wrapping up planning for our spousal events and our clinic schedules. You can see our lineup of over 50 clinics on our clinic page and can now get a sense for our spouse events on our spouses page. More to come.

Time IS ticking away, the convention will be here before you know it. IF YOU HAVEN’T RESIGSTERED YET, PLEASE DO SO SOON! Our on-line registration process has worked very smoothly and hundreds of you have already done so. You can also register by mail. Check out the registration pull down menu page where you can print out registration forms. We also have a system for pre-ordering convention merchandise.

If you have any questions you can always email us at info@seattle2012.com and if it’s a registration specific question at registrar@seattle2012.com

Thanks again,

Your Seattle 2012 Team
